Frida Mah Jong Set
A thoughtful reinterpretation of classic mahjong, the Frida Mah Jong Set combines tradition, craft, and storytelling in every tile.
Bamboo (Bam) tiles: emblazoned with iridescent green feathers of Frida’s beloved parrot. Each bamboo tile carries subtle feather textures and layered greens that capture the bird’s lively presence and tender companionship.
Crack tiles: Featuring portraits of Frida Kahlo rendered in a painterly, aged-crackle finish. These tiles echo the patina of vintage ceramics and canvas, presenting intimate, resonant images of Frida in moments of strength, vulnerability, and creative intensity.
Dot tiles: Decorated in the motifs of traditional Mexican pottery. Bright blue tones, floral patterns, and geometric accents circle each dot, referencing folk ceramics while maintaining clear game readability.
Joker tiles: The set’s narrative centerpieces. Each joker depicts a scene from Frida’s life — her studio, her garden, personal objects, and emblematic moments — arranged so the jokers together form a quiet visual biography. These tiles are designed as conversation pieces that deepen the set’s emotional and cultural context.
Materials and finish: Durable acrylic tiles with a lovely finish for tactile warmth. Clear, contrasting markings ensure practical playability without sacrificing decorative detail.
Each tile is crafted from premium acrylic and finished through an exquisite blend of engraving, hand‑painting, and precision UV printing. The UV process captures the ultra‑fine detail essential to my vision, allowing every tile to transcend function and become a miniature work of art—designed to be cherished, displayed, and admired.
Presentation: Packaged in a handmade leather zip bag, a set of colorful dice, and a small booklet describing the tile imagery and its significance.
The Frida Mah Jong Set balances functionality and art, offering players a richly textured playing experience grounded in cultural motifs and personal narrative.
Tile size is 23mm x 30mm x 13.5mm
